Colorado Trail Challenge

10/3/20:

I had some big, big plans for today. They didn’t come to fruition in the least. If you don’t want to see thousands of people, stay away from the White Mountains in New Hampshire for now. Despite hoping to get some mileage on a beautiful, foliage rich trail and failing, I ended up finishing the day with one of my most successful runs yet.

I only had about an hour once we finally got back from NH until we grabbed my grandmother for dinner, so I rushed to my beloved field and started grinding. My mile time didn’t change – staying strong at 9:44 – but I was able to complete a 5.5 mile workout in that time, running 4 miles of it. I was super happy with my mental toughness in the face of endurance (where it usually fails), and was pumped that I was able to complete all of that in my allotted time.

Better yet, I got to go home to takeout from the Foreside Tavern (IYKYK) on the table and my grandmother waiting to say hi! I ended up forgetting to finish up my mileage on the bike before I showered for the night, but plan to do it tomorrow!
